Vancouver Alt-Rock Band Hotel Mira Notches a Second Track on Billboard Canada Modern Rock Airplay Chart
The group’s song, “Right Back Where I Was” debuts at No. 39 on the chart. Plus, emerging country singer Matt Lang arrives on Canada Country with “I’ve Learned.”

Hotel Mira is checking in for the second time on the airplay charts.
The Vancouver alt-rock band’s newest entry, “Right Back Where I Was,” arrives on the Billboard Canada Modern Rock Airplay chart at No. 39, dated August 30.
The song from their 2025 album, Pity Party, balances the grittiness of garage rock with a considerably poppier, lush soundscape.
It’s a short yet infectious song that effortlessly reflects the record’s title, highlighting the self-pitying lows and the party highs. “I wind up right back where I was/I tried to keep my distance,” frontman Charlie Kerr sings on the three-minute tune.

“Right Back Where I Was” joins the West Coast quartet’s second track on the Modern Rock chart, "Making Progress," which sits at No. 7, and previously peaked at No. 4.
On Canada Country, francophone singer Matt Lang debuts at No. 59 with “I’ve Learned.”
The debut follows the news of the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award nominee, who recently signed three U.S. record label deals to reach English-speaking audiences. It includes Anthem Entertainment for songwriting, River House Artists for management and William Morris Endeavor for booking. “It’s pretty major for us, and I’m really excited about that,” the Maniwaki, Quebec-native told City News Montreal.
The timing of Lang’s charting is apt, as the emotional song reminds listeners to cherish the things they have and prioritize what’s important. “That was for my mother,” he told the publication of the song’s deeper meaning. “She passed away a few months ago, [around] the same time we signed the contracts.”
Now, Lang can honour his mother with a new level of success in his career.
Other debuts this week include Saskatchewan's Kalsey Kulyk, who arrives on Country with “Till I Get to Heaven,” at No. 57. On All-Format, Montreal pop singer Alicia Moffet’s “Lay Your Light” enters at No. 50 — it also peaks at No. 22 on Canada CHR/Top 40 this week. London, Ontario rockers Texas King enter Mainstream Rock at No. 36 with “Ultraviolet.”

Topping this week's radio charts is Alex Warren’s “Ordinary," as he continues his No.1 streak on All-Format, Canada CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC. Warren is once again dethroned by Ed Sheeran’s “Azizam,” which climbs 2-1 on AC.
American country-pop singer Russell Dickerson’s “Happen to Me” rises 3-1 on Country, knocking down Thomas Rhett’s “After All The Bars Are Closed” to No. 3.
Linkin Park emerges on top of Mainstream Rock with “Up From the Bottom,” bumping Foo Fighters’ Today’s Song” to No. 2, while Headstones and City and Colour’s “Navigate” rise 5-3. After The Beaches notched 11 weeks at No. 1 with “Last Girls at the Party” on Modern Rock, Role Model’s “Sally When the Wine Runs Out” earns a second week in the top spot.
