The summer album release schedule rolls on this week for Canadian artists.

Calgary dance-pop star Kiesza (of "Hideaway" fame) has a new six-song collection, Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2, a sequel to the album she released a year ago. Guests on the new record include Peaches (on "So Erotic") and Toronto up-and-comer Jaylen Brown (not to be confused with the Boston Celtics basketball player). Kiesza has an extensive North American summer tour that includes August dates in Ottawa, Montreal and Waterloo.

Veteran folk singer-songwriter David Francey, a four-time Juno Award winner, puts out Maps, a 37-song collection of the most requested songs selected from 9 of the prolific songsmith's 13 albums. Hamilton hard rock favourites The Dirty Nil return with The Lash, and the band has just begun an extensive U.S. tour, with a July 26 stop at The Rickshaw in Vancouver.

Some big Canadian artists have also announced new albums.

The biggest album news this week comes from Daniel Caesar, who confirmed news of his upcoming 2025 album Son of Spergy in his Billboard x Billboard Canada cover story that was released this week. Today (July 25), he has released the first single, "Have A Baby (With Me)"

Meanwhile, Three Days Grace have announced details of their new album Alienation, out August 22 via RCA Records. The long-running Canadian rock band have been dominating radio airwaves and streams, with their song "I Hate Everything About You" recently joining Spotify's Billions Club and their new singles topping the Billboard Canada Rock Airplay charts. Check out their new song "Kill Me Fast" below:

The other major announcement of an upcoming release date is news that folk/roots favourites Great Lake Swimmers will put out a new album, Caught Light, on Oct. 10.

Here are some other albums releasing this week:

Two-Spirit artist and activist Shawnee Kish releases her keenly-anticipated full-length debut, Chapter 1. It is described as "a raw, genre-spanning reflection on identity, resilience and homecoming."

Acclaimed and adventurous Italian-born, Toronto-based artist Fortunato Durutti Marinetti (Daniel Colussi) delivers a fourth album, Bitter Sweet, Sweet Bitter. He describes his sound as 'poetic jazz rock,' and this album was recorded live with a six-piece band in a cramped Toronto attic studio.

Toronto-based songwriter, composer and musical educator Bonnie Milne fuses classical piano, strings and pop sensibilities on her new album, Perception, singer-songwriter Kerub delivers a sophomore full-length, Aphantasia, and country artist Savannah Jade releases an eponymous debut.
