Ontario's biggest electronic music festival will be headlined by a local hero next year.

Deadmau5 will take the stage at VELD Music Festival 2025, joining a group of headliners that includes Dom Dolla, John Summit and Tiësto. The festival takes place at Downsview Park from August 1-3, 2025.

The Canadian producer has been embracing his legend status of late, re-releasing some of his fan favourites. This summer, Billboard Canada inducted him into Canadian Music Week's Music Industry Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, he continues to push boundaries as one of electronic music's biggest mainstage stars and also one of its biggest innovators. Just over a week ago, he released a new concert film recorded in the metaverse. This performance will be a little more IRL, but should be just as eye-catching.

He'll be joined at the festival by Tiësto, one of the biggest DJs and producers in the world and an icon in the genre. John Summit and Dom Dolla also get top billing. Two of the most vital names on the dance/electronic scene and go-to collaborators for big pop artists as well, they're sure to get the sizeable crowd moving.

VELD is a production of INK Entertainment, whose founder Charles Khabouth joined Billboard Canada last week in an interview about his long legacy as Toronto's club king and where he thinks electronic and dance music is heading. He also talked about booking some of Deadmau5's earliest shows at the now-departed Toronto club The Guvernment and then watching him blow up into one of the genre's biggest names. Booking him for VELD is a full-circle moment.

There are still many names to be announced, and there are always a few surprises. Last year, Kaskade and Enisa linked up for a big-stage collaboration that ended up in their music video.

Expect more to come in the coming months. Find the poster and ticket information below.
