Deadmau5 Releases Official Remix of Angine de Poitrine’s 'Fabienk'
The new remix adds a four-on-the-floor dance beat and arrives after the Canadian DJ premiered it at major global festivals like VELD, FIFA Fan Festival and Îlesoniq.
Deadmau5's love for Angine de Poitrine has culminated in an official remix.
The world-renowned DJ and Niagara Falls native released "Fabienk (deadmau5 remake)," his original remix to "Fabienk" by the viral math rock duo Angine de Poitrine, who hail from Saguenay, Quebec. The all-Canadian collaboration flips the original math-rock track into a four-on-the-floor beat, which extra layers of bright keyboards, effectively making Angine de Poitrine's music suitable for any dance floor across the world. The track's quirky refrain of "Sebastien," a nod to the band's manager Sébastien Collin, who is also Billboard Canada's 2026 Manager on the Rise, also shines through one of the track's breakdowns in both members' signature alien voices.
The track has already had fans across the world moving, with deadmau5 dropping it during numerous sets at big name festivals over the last several months including VELD, FIFA Fan Festival and most recently at Îlesoniq in Montreal, where he played in the band's home province. During his VELD show, he was even seen imitating the duo's signature dance moves by throwing up a triangular hand sign and waving his arms.
The remake is finally out to the world after months of anticipation that started in April, when deadmau5 first previewed the track on Instagram. He's been a proud supporter of Angine de Poitrine, even praising their Toronto debut after attending one of their three shows at the Mod Club in June. This new remix is an upbeat rendition of a fan favourite track among Angine de Poitrine listeners, which has been played for increasingly large crowds. Angine de Poitrine packed out the streets at the 2026 Montreal Jazz Fest with nearly 100,000 attendees, and they graced the main stage at Osheaga earlier this month, playing a surprise set for nearly 50,000 people. "Fabienk" has even made a fan out of Canadian legend Shania Twain, who got an up-close listen of the track while guesting alongside Angine de Poitrine on Later... with Jools Holland. "I love them...they’re so cool," she told Billboard Canada.
The Deadmau5-Angine de Poitrine linkup marks an alliance between two Billboard Canada cover stars, an organic relationship stemming from a Canadian music icon showing love to music's biggest breakthrough act.
