Paul McCartney Will Play the Opening Show at Hamilton’s TD Coliseum
The 2025 run of the British icon’s Got Back tour includes two Canadian stops in Hamilton and Montreal.

Living legend Paul McCartney will take centre stage on Friday, November 21, 2025, to mark the grand opening of the newly transformed arena in Hamilton, Ontario, as part of McCartney’s critically-acclaimed Got Back Tour.
The announcement comes just one day after the news that Oak View Group’s CEO Tim Leiweke, is stepping down amidst a criminal indictment in the U.S. for anticompetitive behaviour. OVG took over the new venue, formerly FirstOntario Centre, in November 2023, and has been leading a flashy $300 million renovation. Along with their stake in Departure fest, the arena is the centrepiece of OVG's operations in Canada.
McCartney’s Got Back 2025 run marks his first extensive trek across North America since 2022. Of the 19 new tour dates, the British performer is set to perform three in Canada, including two shows at Montreal’s Bell Centre on November 17 and 18.
McCartney launched the Got Back tour three years ago, with 16 sold-out shows across the U.S. that led up to his historic Glastonbury set that June. After performing in cities across the globe for the past two years, this leg kicks off September 29 in Palm Springs and concludes November 5 in Chicago.
As one of the most influential singer-songwriters of all time, McCartney’s concerts boast his decades-spanning music catalogue — performing songs like “Live and Let Die” and “Band of the Run” from his solo project, Wings, and classics from The Beatles songbook, including “Hey Jude” and “Let It Be.” His performance promises a high-energy, career-spanning set filled with iconic hits and inspiring music.
“Opening night deserves something extraordinary, and it doesn’t get any better than Paul McCartney,” said Nick DeLuco, General Manager at TD Coliseum. “This show marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for TD Coliseum and speaks volumes about the caliber of events we will bring to the region. We’re excited for the future in Hamilton.”
Before McCartney’s announcement, TD Coliseum had scheduled shows with Andrea Bocelli and Brad Paisley in December. Next year, the venue will host the 55th annual Juno Awards on March 29, 2026.
After fan issues with transit at Rogers Stadium, the Hamilton stadium says it is working with Metrolinx to ensure concert-goers travelling from Toronto get home safely from the concert. Train service from West Harbour GO to Union Station will be available following the event.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, July 18, at 10 a.m. EST.
