Lee's Palace is making some noise for its 40th anniversary.

As part of the year-long celebration of the landmark birthday, the iconic Toronto music venue is bringing in Australian punk band The Chats for a three-night stand.

Billboard Canada presents The Chats from July 29-31 at Lee's Palace. The three shows will present the Queensland "shed rock" band at the same venue played by legendary rock bands from Nirvana to Oasis, Blur to the Buzzocks.

The concerts continue new Lee's Palace owners MODO-LIVE's mission to further the venue's legacy of memorable shows from buzzy touring bands while remaining a hub for the local music scene.

The Chats formed as teenagers in 2016 and a year later went viral with "Smoko," which captured the particular ennui of minimum wage service work and popularized the Australian slang term for a cigarette break. In 2019, "Pub Feed" hit another viral note with a song about eating dinner at a bar while dreading the end-of-month rent due. The song was later covered by Aussie children's entertainment royalty The Wiggles. The 2022 album Get Fucked charted on Billboard's Top Albums Sales chart in 2022.

The songs are extremely Australian, and also so universally relatable that they've resonated worldwide. Live, the humour and slang-filled tunes can unite a room.

A venue presale for The Chats shows goes live today today (Feb. 6) at 10 am ET (PASS: CHATS40) and a general onsale tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 7) at 10 am ET. Ticket links are below:
