Vancouver Artist Jimi Hits the Billboard Canada Modern Rock Chart Following Toronto Blue Jays Synch
“Leather Jacket” marks the blues-rock singer and guitarist's first release under her Headwater Music Group and ADA Canada global distribution deal. Nickelback, meanwhile, holds the top spot on Mainstream Rock for the third week with "Bones for the Crows."

Jimi is hanging her “Leather Jacket” on the Billboard Canada Airplay charts.
The Vancouver-based blues-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist's has debuted at No. 39 on the Billboard Canada Modern Rock chart, dated May 30.
It's Jimi’s first song since she inked a global distribution deal with Vancouver Island-based Headwater Music Group and ADA Canada, the independent distribution and artist services arm of Warner Music Canada.
“Leather Jacket” brings Jimi into harder-edged rock sound, with a punchiness that complements her sultry vocals. Her otherworldly guitar playing anchors the three-minute track.
Beyond chart recognition, the rising singer’s track is already picking up steam around the country after being tapped as a celebratory anthem for the 2026 Toronto Blue Jays season in the Rogers Centre and on Sportsnet broadcasts.
One spot down, fellow Vancouverites Uncle Strut debut at No. 40 with “Call My Name.”
While it was released at the tail end of February, the song's indie rock and surf-psych sounds make it clear the group is vying for song of the summer. On Instagram, the group shares that it was their “favourite song that we’ve ever made."
At the top of the chart, Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” maintains its No. 1 placement, but Metric’s “Victim of Luck” climbs 4-2, as the Toronto indie rockers may dethrone Kahan in next week’s ranking.
Owen Riegling arrives on All-Format at No. 35 with “Love Hate Love,” just weeks after playing his biggest shows in Toronto and Nashville. The song has been on the Canada Country chart for five weeks and reaches its peak this week at No. 22. On the same chart, bluegrass band High Valley land at No. 52 with “Fools,” while Tony Stevens’ “Nothing On Me” claims No. 57.
At the top of Country, Ella Langley’s “Be Her” reaches No. 1, moving up from No. 4. Elsewhere, Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” locks in the top spot on All-Format, AC, CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC, as he continues his record-breaking concert run at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium.
Meanwhile, Nickelback keeps the top spot on Mainstream Rock for a third week with “Bones for the Crows" after serving as the theme song for WrestleMania 42.
