PartyNextDoor Brings 2016 to the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 Following 'P3' Anniversary Reissue

PartyNextDoor is bringing 2016 nostalgia to the Billboard Canada charts.

The Canadian R&B star took fans back in time with a special anniversary reissue of his 2016 album PartyNextDoor 3 (P3) which includes three unreleased songs, two of which appear on this week's Billboard Canadian Hot 100, dated Sept. 5.

"Some of Your Love," a warm R&B cut set over an ethereal melody, lands at No. 28, while "Routine Rouge," a moody trap song, enters at No. 77. Both tracks were first premiered on Drake's Apple Music radio show OVO Sound Radio in 2015, over a decade ago, and reflect both sides of PartyNextDoor's influential blend of R&B and hip-hop that carved out a unique lane in the mid-2010s.

Following its reissue, PartyNextDoor 3 re-enters this week's Billboard Canadian Albums chart at No. 33. The original album reached the top 5 of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart in 2016, debuting at No. 4 and earning several entries on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 including the Drake-assisted "Come & See Me," the summer hit "Not Nice" and "Only U."

Last year, he reached new heights in Canada, topping the Billboard Canadian Albums chart with his collaborative album with Drake, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U and subsequently earning his first-ever top 20 singles with "CN Tower" (No. 13) and "Die Trying" (No. 14).

Punjabi-Canadian rapper Jxggi has earned his debut on the Billboard Canada charts, nabbing his first-ever entries with his new album Inferno. The 11-track effort debuts at No. 36 on the Canadian Albums chart this week, with two tracks entering the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.

"IYKYK," a song with an impressive display of flow and a surprise beat switch, debuts at No. 78, while "Knock Knock," an upbeat hip-hop collaboration with his frequent collaborator and producer Sickboi, bows in at No. 88. The rising star has received frequent co-signs from fellow Canadian star Shubh, put out several releases with Malsons Media, the India-based music incubator helping propel Punjabi music in Canada worldwide and now he's hit the charts.

The Tragically Hip extend their legacy with a new Billboard Canadian Albums placement following the release of their new live album, Live July 22-August 20, 2016, a compilation of performances from their celebrated farewell tour in 2016. The record was released following the re-broadcast of the group's final concert on its tenth anniversary, on Aug. 20, 2016, and features live renditions of classics like "Bobcaygeon" and "New Orleans Is Sinking" among others.

The new entry adds to the Hip's illustrious chart history in Canada, which recently unlocked a new milestone after the band's greatest hits album Yer Favourites spent 400 weeks on the Billboard Canadian Album chart, continuing its run as the seventh-longest charting album in the chart's history.

Stella Lefty's chartbreaking success continues with the arrival of her debut album in the top 10 of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, at No. 8. The 14-track effort includes new tracks like "Summer You Were Mine" and "Lean In, Kiss Me," which she previewed during her Osheaga performance in Montreal, and becomes her second top 20 effort along with her previous EP Is This Heaven?, which reached No. 16 in July after her blockbuster hit "Boston" went viral.

"Boston" remains at No. 2 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 this week, not quite able to displace the juggernaut success of Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" at No. 1.

"Texas" spends its 17th week at No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100 this week, which breaks it out of a tie to take sole possession of the record for fifth longest-leading track in the chart's history. One more week would tie the song for fourth alongside Harry Styles' "As It Was."

Canadian singer-songwriter Cameron Whitcomb, meanwhile, remains at No. 3 with his highest-charting hit "Kingdom of Fear."
