The National Music Publishers Association revealed that the Toronto singer secured 16 RIAA certifications between April and June of this year — including Rihanna's diamond-certified "Work" — earning him the title of top artist-songwriter for the second quarter of 2024.

The National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) revealed that from April to June of this year, the Toronto artist earned 16 RIAA certifications, putting him in the top spot in the U.S.
RIAA certifications recognize gold (500K sales units), platinum (1 million units) and diamond (10 million units) singles and albums. Party's impressive 16 certifications include diamond certification for "Work," 5x platinum for his 2016 Drake-assisted "Come and See Me" and 4x platinum for his breakthrough single, "Break From Toronto."
"It is an honour to have my music and writing be recognized for their contributions,” Party says of the NMPA recognition in a statement.
Published by Warner Chappell, Party has written for massive stars like Post Malone and Usher, while developing his own career as a performing artist. In his Billboard cover story this spring, he spoke about how he approaches balancing his solo releases with his writing work, as well as his relationship with Drake and his label OVO Sound.
The achievement bolsters a big year for Party, who released his long-awaited PARTYNEXTDOOR4 in April and performed a homecoming show at Toronto's Budweiser Stage that included a headline-grabbing surprise set by Drake in August.
Mustard was named the top non-performing songwriter by the NMPA, garnering four certifications — including a diamond certification for another Rihanna single, "Needed Me."
Those two certifications for Rihanna helped make her the female artist with the most diamond singles in recording history this spring.
Between April and June, 1,276 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum certifications were awarded.
