As of Week 48, Audio On-Demand Streams up 75% over same period in 2016.

Week 48 was the first week since Nielsen Music began tracking streaming in Canada that audio on-demand streams surpassed the 900 million mark.

Streaming lifts help make up for the drops in physical and digital sales.

  • Albums w/TEA w/SEA On-Demand up 8%

  • Overall albums down 16%

  • Digital Tracks down 19%

Vinyl albums continued their upward growth, with a 22% YTD increase over the same period in 2016.

Vinyl sales have shown a year over year increase each year since 2011.
