Kaytranada is gearing up to drop a new album.

The Montreal artist-producer caught fans by surprise this afternoon (Aug. 11) by announcing that he has a brand new album ready to go titled Ain’t No Damn Way! —and it’s releasing this Friday.

“Oh lord, not a new album called AIN’T NO DAMN WAY! - coming out this Friday???,” he said on Instagram. He added to keep an eye out for a single titled “Space Invader,” which drops at midnight EST tonight.

He also shared his intent behind the project on his Instagram story. “Letting y’all know that this album is strictly for workouts, dancing and studying and for people that love beats,” he said. He captioned the announcement "ALL ABOUT THE BEATS." on X, potentially hinting at an instrumental album. This marks his first album since June 2024's Timeless. Timeless reached No. 30 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart and No. 2 on Top Dance Albums.

The announcement features a photo of Kaytranada being hugged by an illustrated human, as well as an illustration of a blinking eye, both of which were designed by fellow Montrealer and Dime co-founder Vincent Tsang. The album’s potential cover, which appears through the "Space Invader" pre-save link and was posted to Kaytranada's Instagram story alongside the album's title, features the same human illustration in black over a maroon background.

The producer recently contributed to The Weeknd’s history-making concerts at Toronto’s Roger’s Centre, filling in for Playboi Carti as the opening act. Including his opening stint in 2022 on the After Hours Til Dawn Tour, he’s been a part of all six concerts that helped The Weeknd set the record for the highest number of shows played at the stadium by a Canadian artist.

Kaytranada is set to hit the road again this fall on a co-headlining tour with Justice that kicks off on Oct. 16 at Vancouver's Rogers Arena.
