Shania Twain’s comeback is imminent.

The Canadian icon posted an ominous clip to her social media channels on May 6, seemingly teasing that she’ll be releasing new music soon.

In the video, Twain is sporting a white fringe outfit and cowboy boots while carrying an axe and walking through a field, as the twang of a guitar and bubbling bass can be heard in the video.

She approaches a pile of wood and takes a big swing to chop one of the logs before it cuts to black as the words: “Don’t touch that dial. I’ll be right back,” flash on the screen. It caused a frenzy in the comments, with many fans speculating that Twain was teasing new material.

Well, 24 hours later, she delivered on her promise.

Yesterday (May 7), Twain shared a new clip — this time with words — to her social media. She returns to the open field of her last video, and her cowboy boots make a reappearance. This time, she dons a cowboy hat, a lace mini dress and a fur-lined coat.

As she struts around the field, she sings the lyrics: “You can drive my Hummer, in the summer / You can drive the ladies in my Mercedes / but you can’t drive my truck,” in her classic country pop twang.

In the caption, Twain writes: “You can drive me CRAZY (BUT… You can’t drive my truck!)” potentially teasing other lyrics from the song.

While the track hasn’t been given a release date, it’s the first major taste of Twain’s new music in nearly three years — but it hasn’t been radio silence on her end.

The “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” singer has shared glimpses into her music-making process with fans by sharing studio clips on social media.

Two weeks ago, she posted a video working alongside Grammy-winning artist T Bone Burnett. In the clip, the two were putting together a guitar sequence for an unreleased song, with Twain noting in the caption: “More soon!”

On Instagram, Twain has shared a link in her bio that prompts fans to pre-save any future music releases on Spotify or Apple Music. In addition, she’s left a phone number for listeners to call.

Back in 2023, the pop-country star released her sixth studio album, Queen of Me, and it hit No. 2 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart dated Feb. 18, 2023. The record included the single “Waking Up Dreaming,” which spent one week at No. 72 on the Oct. 8, 2022 Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart.

Recently, Twain has been building major momentum. Last February, she wrapped up her third Las Vegas residency — an ode to her decades-spanning hits — before the hitmaker made history in July, after playing the “highest-grossing” show at the Calgary Stampede.
