The celebration was hosted by CBC’s Bill Roach with musical direction by Craig Fair Productions. The gala also included performances by some of this year's top nominees, including Logan Richard, Lennie Gallant, siddhu sneh, Richard Wood and members from the Charlottetown Jazz Ensemble who paid tribute to PEI jazz notables The Jive Kings.

The gala was the closing event of the 25th annual Music PEI Week, which ran from Feb. 28 to March 7, with events across the Island celebrating PEI’s music scene.

This year’s celebration included special recognition for two honourees: Teresa Doyle, the recipient of the lifetime achievement award, recognizing her passionate representation of PEI on national and international stages and highlighting her dedication to arts education, and Andrew Cormier, the recipient of the Leo Cheverie Community Contributor Award, for his efforts to build bridges in PEI’s music community and give visibility to lesser-recognized genres of music.

Public voting for two fan-favourite categories took place: entertainer of the year, awarded to the Mango Street Trio, and music video of the year, presented to roots music veteran Lennie Gallant at a video screening event for his video "Counting on Angels," directed by Matt Lodge.

Last year, the Music PEI Awards were significantly revamped, with several new categories created and application fees removed in a bid to boost accessibility.

In 2025, the multiple awards winners were Vishtèn Connexions, Absolute Losers and Dylan Menzie, with two apiece.
