The Weeknd has made Spotify history once again, becoming the first artist ever to see 30 of his songs cross one billion streams each.
The achievement arrives just as the singer has once again wiped his Instagram feed — a recurring reset that has often preceded creative shifts or new rollouts in the past — adding intrigue to what this moment might signal for his next chapter.
The milestone, as reported by Complex, includes some of his most recognizable hits, such as “Blinding Lights,” “Starboy” with Daft Punk and “Can’t Feel My Face,” along with newer additions like “Timeless,” his collaboration with Playboi Carti from Hurry Up Tomorrow.
The achievement follows a string of streaming records across recent years. In 2024, The Weeknd became the first artist with 18 songs in Spotify’s Billions Club after previously tying Drake at 17, later celebrating the milestone with a special Billions Club concert that was released as a concert film.
Today, he remains one of Spotify’s most dominant acts, with more than 120 million monthly listeners and multiple Diamond-certified singles.
The fresh Instagram wipe — which removes all posts from his profile — has added fuel to speculation that a new rollout or artistic transition may be underway.
The Weeknd has used similar resets before major announcements or directional shifts, and the timing coincides with the closing stretch of his After Hours Til Dawn era.
