Yowzers, there is a god in heaven!

And those in need can offer 'thanks' to Music Canada and the three major labels.

Canada’s three major labels – Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music and Warner Music – are providing direct financial support for the Unison Benevolent Fund, the non-profit charity that provides counselling and emergency relief services to individuals working in the Canadian music community.

“This support helps Unison help the music community- and with the support of our member labels, Music Canada is proud to work even more closely with Unison to provide targeted support for the benefit of our creative industry,” Music Canada President and CEO Graham Henderson said in a statement Thursday.

Additionally, Music Canada has announced that it has expanded its supporting role for the organization. In response to the pandemic, Music Canada is providing Unison financial and administrative resource support, together with government relations expertise and guidance. “As one of the founding supporters of Unison, we have seen the crucial need for their services,” continued Henderson, “and we have seen the impact of their relief on those who come to Unison for help.”

“Unison is enormously grateful for the continuous support from some of the biggest players in the Canadian music industry,” said Unison Fund Executive Director, Amanda Power. “The direct and valued efforts from Canada’s major record labels ensures that we can continue to provide discreet counselling and health services in addition to immediate financial relief for the most vulnerable in our industry at this very critical time.”

Bad Bunny Turns the World Into His Casita With Triumphant Super Bowl LX Halftime Performance: Critic’s Take

The global superstar called for unity without hiding from confrontation in a brilliant, career-defining performance.

Few halftime shows had as much at stake while simultaneously having nothing really to lose than Bad Bunny‘s halftime performance at Super Bowl LX on Sunday (Feb. 8). On the one hand, the gig comes with all eyes on it — minus the likely comparatively small amount of those who tuned in to the alternate Turning Point USA halftime show — after the Puerto Rican superstar’s halftime selection was loudly decried by a select few reactionary pundits who probably couldn’t tell Karol G from Kenny G anyway. On the other hand, Bad Bunny has been on such a winning streak in just about every way possible over the past 13 months — including most literally at the Grammys last Sunday — that his gig on the world’s biggest stage came at a time when it really couldn’t do anything but further confirm his status as one of the world’s most globally dominating and beloved superstars.
