No Monday Newsletter Due To Long Weekend Holiday

The Victoria Day weekend, or National Patriots Day, if you live in Quebec, in normal times, is when many of us fire up the BBQ, open up ‘the cottage’ or re-establish order and nurture life into backyards. Well, the 2020 edition comes with a manifest of limitations, but, hey, we need the break and perhaps you need a break from us. Either way, Monday’s a holiday and so Team FYI is sodding off for a bit of fun without sun, but we’ll be back like a flock of crows during planting season on Wednesday. Until then, the best from us to you.

Fender saw off competition from FKA Twigs, Fontaines D.C., CMAT & more

Sam Fender‘s People Watching won the Mercury Prize on Thursday (Oct. 16) in a ceremony held in his hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Launched in 1992, The Mercury Prize is an esteemed annual prize that celebrates the best of British and Irish music across a range of music genres. For the first time in its history, this year the ceremony was held outside of London, taking place at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle upon Tyne.
