Led to victory by a seventh inning George Springer home run, the Jays' win ensures their spot in the World Series for the first time since 1993, when the team won back--to-back championships. On Friday, Oct. 24, the Blue Jays will face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first World Series game in Toronto.
To mark the milestone moment, a handful of Canadian musicians have taken to social media to show their support.
Drake shared excitement for his hometown, posting a grainy photo to Instagram with the caption “World Series Bound.”
He also posted a POV reaction video on his Instagram Story, watching pitcher Jeff Hoffman record the final out. "We're going to the big show," he said from behind the camera. "Get the boys a pizza and some cokes."
Online, some users have made jokes about the rapper’s ever-persisting feud with Kendrick Lamar, an L.A. native.
Leandra Earl of The Beaches took to TikTok, sharing her reaction to the final out, watching amongst a group of fellow Jays fans at a bar.
“Nothing like watching the jays make it to the World Series for the first time since 1993 on a day off of tour just outside Seattle,” the overlaid text read, referencing the Jays’ opponent.

Toronto singer-songwriter Alex Coles, shared a brief Instagram story, posing with Earl and The Beaches guitarist Kylie Miller. “The brothers won @bluejays,” he captioned the photo.
Acclaimed songwriter and producer Lowell also joked about securing tickets to the World Series games on her Instagram story: “Alright so who has those jays tix hook up,” she asked.
Arkells posted their own reaction video to the final out, with frontman Max Kerman jumping up and down from within the stands at the home stadium.

Rush frontman Geddy Lee, a known baseball and Blue Jays superfan, has been a fixture at the Rogers Centre, seen attending nearly every home game the baseball team has played this season.
Lee was also the voice of the Blue Jays postseason hype video on broadcaster Sportsnet, which is owned by team owner Rogers.
Hot on the heels of Rush’s 50th anniversary tour announcement earlier this month, Lee and the band’s guitarist Alex Lifeson visited the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, which houses the Geddy Lee Collection of over 400 signed baseballs that he donated.
To document the moment, Lee posted a photo to Instagram standing between whom he called “the statues of two of the greatest players to ever grace a ball-field,” Josh Gibson and “The Maestro” Martin Dihigo. In the hashtags, he showed his hometown support, simply writing: “#GoJaysGo.”
A major baseball collector, this year Lee wrote the book 72 Stories: From The Baseball Collection of Geddy Lee.
