New & Upcoming Canadian Album Releases: Mac DeMarco, Anne Murray & Sarah McLachlan Announce New Albums

Mac DeMarco
There is an eclectic group of Canadian albums being released this week.
Now based in Nashville and recently signed to Epitaph, Canadian rockerRoyale Lynn has been creating a serious buzz, attracting over 1 million followers across socials and 65 million global streams. Out on June 27, Black Magic is her debut, and it showcases a retro alt-metal influenced, hard-rock sound.
Toronto alt-pop artist Alex Porat has also been amassing impressive stats, such as 120M+ global streams and 1.1M YouTube subscribers and a spot on the Billboard Canada Airplay charts. She recently released a tender dream-pop ballad, "Blueprint" and her EP crushed! comes out today (June 27). Montreal indie &B artist/producer kerrihas drawn praise from Timbaland, his song “us/faces” was synced on NBC’s Bel-Air, and now his new album DON'T PANIC is out now.
Acclaimed soul combo The Souljazz Orchestra serve up a vinyl edition of their record, Manifesto, funky jazz combo The Heavyweights Brass Band serve up Knockout2 and eloquent roots singer-songwriter Shuyler Jansen puts out a new EP, DELUJN (vol. 1). Psych project Lammping delivers Never Never, the first in a four-part series and one featuring a collaboration with Bloodshot Bill. The record blends fuzzed-out psych with boom-bap textures and analog experimentation.
Some major Canadian stars announced upcoming album release dates over the past week. Pop superstar Anne Murray has dug into her vaults of unreleased material for a new collection of songs, Here You Are, out on Sept. 5. Another multi-platinum-selling artist, Sarah McLachlan, will release Better Broken on Sept 19. It is her first new album in a decade. It has been termed “a soul-searching reflection on the fortitude that comes from weathering life’s constant storms.”
Multi-Juno Award-winning electro-pop artist Kiesza will deliver a six-song record, Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2, on July 25. Indie singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco will put out his new album, Guitar, on August 22 via Mac’s Record Label. The lead single and video, “Home,” is described as "a reflective song about place, memory, and change." DeMarco also revealed he is expanding his sold-out 2025 tour including Canada stops, with new tour dates for 2026, including a February/early March run in Asia and an extensive May tour in the U.S..
