The FYI team is taking a break for the Labour Day weekend and will return with a newsletter edition on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Late breaking news will, of course, be posted on the website between then and now. For those interested, David Farrell is off to Quebec to visit with JP Guilbert and his wife Lorna, longstanding residents in St. Maarten who have returned home after a hurricane devastated the island and blew their dockside restaurant to kingdom come.

Three years after the song first blew up, the Toronto rock band’s hit has resurged online thanks to a fun live performance bit started by members Kylie Miller and Leandra Earl. It has expanded to include famous faces like Rebecca Black, the Off Campus cast, Alex Coles and more.

During the live performance of the Toronto rock act's biggest hit, "Blame Brett," band members Kylie Miller and Leandra Earl have implemented a coordinated hop moment as they play guitar and bass. While it's been a staple of their set for a while, it has found a whole new audience on social media, and the band has leaned into it, making it a larger part of their concert and festival sets.
