U.S. record label ONErpm has added another rising Canadian country star to its roster.

The label has announced the signing of Nashville-based singer Robyn Ottolini for her new debut album, A Safe Place To Land, set to be released on Aug. 21. Latest single, “God Knows I Try,” is out now.

Hailing from Uxbridge, Ontario, Ottolini became the second runner-up at Boots and Hearts’ Emerging Artist Showcase in 2016, and has built from there. Four years later, she broke through with her viral hit “F-150,” still her most-streamed track to date and her first top 10 on the Billboard Canada Country Airplay chart.

Sharing the stage with legendary country acts like Shania Twain and Tim McGraw, Ottolini cultivated a devoted fanbase, becoming a CCMA winner and earning multiple hits on the Country Airplay chart. Most recently, she debuted at No. 32 with her hit “Airplane Bottle” last June, and its impact landed the track on the 2025 year-end chart at No. 100.

Known for her earnest songwriting, Ottolini's debut record will elevate her sound, which can be heard on “God Knows I Try,” a song that blends sharp lyrics with heartfelt vulnerability, exploring the tension between self-doubt and self-acceptance.

“It’s not only a declaration to others, but a reminder to myself that I’m trying my best and giving everything in my heart to this life. My effort and intentions are what define me, not where I may fall short in someone else’s eyes,” she explains.

According to Ottolini, the music video was inspired by a fellow Canadian artist: “The idea was inspired by the video for Justin Bieber’s song ‘I’ll Show You’,” she says of the clip filmed at Tennessee’s Rutledge Falls. “Though we couldn’t make it to Iceland, Rutledge Falls was the perfect setting for my dreamy waterfall backdrop.”

Ottolini joins fellow Canadian country singer Brett Kissel, singer-songwriter Sam Drysdale, 2010s pop-reggae band Magic!, R&B artist Verzache and folk singer AHI on ONErpm’s roster chock full of Canadian acts.

Justin Trudeau Helps Katy Perry Promote ‘Watch it Burn’ Single With Goofy TikTok Dance: Watch

The former prime minister hopped up and down with the pop star and friends to the silly clip.

Most pop stars don’t get politicians endorsing their songs, but Katy Perry isn’t like the others. The hitmaker promoted her new single “Watch It Burn” in a recent TikTok, which featured former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau — who just so happens to be Perry’s boyfriend — giving his seal of approval by letting loose to the track.

The clip posted on Thursday (July 9) opens with the musician outdoors in a bus lot, singing the lyrics to her June-released song in close-up. Then, as the beat drops, she starts hopping up and down, moving backward a few feet to reveal a group of people bouncing around as well. After a few seconds, Trudeau joins in, bounding into frame and looking at Perry adoringly before hopping away, his hair flopping up and down.
