Is R9 finally in motion? A$AP Rocky revealed during an interview on The Jason Lee Show posted Wednesday (Aug. 5) that Rihanna is back in the studio and actively recording.

Rocky pushed back against the theory that he’s the reason that Rihanna hasn’t released a new album this decade due to their relationship and having three kids together.

“Nah,” he replied. “Yo, she in the studio right now. Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe. Like, bro, she working. She cooking, no funny s–t. Damn, I’ma get in trouble for this.”

Billboard has reached out to Ri’s reps for comment.

There hasn’t been much movement when it comes to Rihanna’s publicized plans for new music. The superstar’s last release came as a contribution to the Smurfs Movie soundtrack with “Friend of Mine” in 2025.

The Navy was hyped to see Rihanna back in the studio earlier this year, when she posted footage from a recording session on social media in a day-in-the-life montage. “I have to go to the studio after this,” Rihanna said in the February clip. “And I have to make a Mardi Gras costume for my son after the studio … Longest day ever.”

Elsewhere in Jason Lee’s interview with Rocky, the host recalled a time when he bumped into Rocky and RiRi around 4:30 a.m. ET at a Walgreens, where the couple was having a Nerf gun fight in the aisles of the store. “There was nobody else in the store at first, but us, and y’all were two kids acting a damn fool, and it was the funniest thing,” Lee said.

Rihanna’s last album arrived in 2016 with ANTI, which spent two weeks atop the Billboard 200. Rihanna made her return to the stage in July when she appeared at Jay-Z’s Extra Innings show at Yankee Stadium and performed “Run This Town” and “Bitch Better Have My Money.”

The hard-charging song is the first taste of the K-pop superstar's upcoming Press Play (Oct. 23) EP.

BLACKPINK‘s Lisa comes out swinging on her hard-charging single “SaWaDiKa.” And if you’re not convinced that her return to rap is complete, just check out the first, shouted lines of the song whose title translates into “hello” in Thai, because Lisa is cordially inviting you to bask in her badness.

“Hello Sawadika/ Yeah you know my wrist is cold/ Got this timepiece from Geneva/ If you know it then you know,” she raps at the top of the high-fashion, action-heavy video for the song, which dropped on Friday (Sept. 4) and was shot in the singer’s native Bangkok, Thailand. And, just in case you missed the ice-cold message, there’s one more thing on her mind: “I’m that b–ch on your TV/ And my Ferrari indigo/ La la lisa la diva/ Sawadika there she go.”
