It’s going to be a busy six months ahead for major Canadian country star Josh Ross.

He is prepping the release of a new album, his full-length debut, Later Tonight, coming out via Universal Music Canada on Sept 19. Live Nation Canada also announced his extensive national tour, set for February and March 2026.

The 11-city, 12-show trek will see the Ontario-raised, Nashville-based singer-songwriter perform in large clubs, theaters, and event spaces.

It kicks off Feb. 12 at Hard Rock Live in Ottawa, followed by back-to-back Toronto shows—Massey Hall on Feb. 13 and History on Feb. 14.

The tour wraps March 9 with an all-ages concert at the Orpheum in Vancouver. Rising artist Chandler Walters will open all dates and tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, Sept. 5.

Later Tonight follows Ross’ 2024 eight-song EP Complicated, which propelled him to the top of the Canadian country charts and made waves in the U.S. The ballad “Trouble” hit No. 1 in Canada, earning Double Platinum status at home and RIAA Gold certification south of the border.

Complicated also earned Ross his first Juno Award earlier this year for Country Album of the Year. He has been nominated for six CCMA (Canadian Country Music association) Awards, and in 2024 he was crowned CCMA Entertainer of the Year while also taking home the CMA Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award. His catalogue has now surpassed one billion streams.

Expectations for Later Tonight are high, with the tracklist including U.S. radio chart-topper “Single Again” and the recently released title track.

Ross’ new chapter comes after a controversy earlier this summer. In June, he was criticized after footage circulated of him waving a U.S. flag onstage at the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival in Bloomington, Ind., while calling America “the best country in the world.”

The Canadian Press reported that the clip, which surfaced just weeks before Ross performed at Ottawa’s Canada Day celebrations, drew backlash. In the video, Ross told the crowd: “Fun fact, real quick. I’m Canadian. You want to know the best fun fact? I moved to the best country in the world and I love it very much.”

Shortly after, Ross posted an apology on TikTok: “To anybody who’s offended,” he said, explaining that his words were taken out of context. “I’m born and raised in Canada, but I’ve been living in Nashville for the last five-plus years. Half my family lives in Canada, the other half is here in the U.S., and I’m as proud of establishing myself in the U.S. as I am of being Canadian.”

In This Season of Giving, Mariah Carey Shares Throwback Clip From 1994 Manifesting a Potential Christmas Classic One Day: ‘So Grateful’

MC only had to wait 25 years for her all-time holiday classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Mariah Carey is the undisputed Queen of Christmas. The pop singer has lorded over the holiday charts for the past six years with her ubiquitous wintertime classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” It seems hard to believe it now if you’ve been anywhere near a store since Halloween, but the yuletide favorite that was released in 1994 did not chart until 2000 and did not hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 until 2019, fully 25 years after it first hit our ears.

Now, as the holidays really ramp up, the best-selling Christmas song of all time in the U.S. seems like a no-brainer to top the charts every year. But on Tuesday (Dec. 9), MC gave thanks for how it all started in a throwback video she re-posted from a fan feed of an interview she did in 1994 in which she was asked if she hopes one of the songs from her first holiday album, that year’s Merry Christmas, might some day be as ubiquitous as such standards as “White Christmas” or “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
