Sloan is dreaming their way onto the airplay charts.

The Canadian legends are debuting a new track, “Dream Destroyer,” which arrives at No. 39 on the Billboard Canada Modern Rock Airplay chart, dated September 6.

It serves as the second single from their forthcoming album, Based on the Best Seller, out September 26. The song is fuelled by swirling shoegaze textures and Sloan’s signature charm. “Dream Destroyer” dives into themes of heartbreak and regret in a succinct power-pop punch.

“The song is an ode to lost love, past mistakes, and the recklessness that has been the blueprint of my life, for better or worse,” shares lead guitarist Patrick Pentland. “Worse in terms of relationships, better in terms of fodder for hit songs. A door slams shut, a window smashes open.”

Based on the Best Seller marks the group’s 14th album, the follow-up to 2022’s Steady.

Country newcomers — and real life couple — Griffen Palmer and Madison Kozak are notching a new debut on Canada Country, with “Fight With You” arriving at No. 48.

The couple’s first official music collaboration is an emotional, intimate ballad about choosing to fight for your relationship as its own powerful form of love. It blends Palmer’s emotive vocals with Kozak’s crystal-clear harmonies.

Canadian country artists are having a moment on All-Format. Cameron Whitcomb hits No. 44 with “Options,” while Nate Haller and Tenille Townes’ “Backfire” debuts at No. 45.

On Hot AC, Montreal pop star Tedy enters at No. 50 with “I Hope” and Toronto singer Jessie Reyez’s “NYB” slides right the radar at No. 40.

At the top of this week's radio charts is Alex Warren’s “Ordinary," as he continues his No.1 streak on All-Format, Canada CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC. Ed Sheeran’s “Azizam,” sits at the top for second week after dethroning Warren on AC.

American country-pop singer Russell Dickerson’s “Happen to Me” sits at No.1 on Country, while Three Days Grace emerges on top of Mainstream Rock with “Apologies”, knocking Linkin Park’s “Up From the Bottom” to No. 3.

After The Beaches notched 11 weeks at the top with “Last Girls at the Party” on Modern Rock, Role Model’s “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” earns a third week in No. 1.
