Following our look-ahead to the most notable upcoming Canadian albums of 2025, we're back with a full calendar of new releases.

This week features the philosophical new album Humanhood from acclaimed singer-songwriter The Weather Station (Tamara Lindeman).


She joins the new year's first busy release week along Montreal psych rockers Elephant Stone, L.A.-based Canadian artist/producer Maddie Jay, Simply Saucer's Edgar Breau, '90s-rooted rockers Jonas & the Jaguar Moon, plus Ken Presse of The Franklin Electric and Montreal singer-songwriter Marlaena Moore.

There have also been some new release dates to add to our upcoming calendar, including Gloin, Frog Eyes, Population 11, Bria Salmena , Envy of None and Brock Geiger.

604 Records Co-Founder Jonathan Simkin Says Carly Rae Jepsen Recorded a Whole Unreleased Album Around 'Call Me Maybe'

The British Columbia-native was signed to Interscope Records, but was reportedly tasked to make a brand new record with all new producers.

An unreleased Carly Rae Jepsen project exists out in the music ether, according to Jonathan Simkin.

In a recent podcast episode of I Hate Simkin, the 604 Records co-founder reveals that prior to the No. 1 success of Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” an entire project had been made — but it didn’t make it to the masses.
