– Congrats to Vancouver-based music impresario Sam Feldman who has been named to the Order of British Columbia. Included in the list of new appointees is actor Ryan Reynolds. Feldman adds the recognition to a long list of other achievement awards including inductions into the BC Entertainment and Canadian Music Industry Halls of Fame.


Nettwerk Music Group is expanding its European presence with a new headquarters in Hamburg.

As reported by MBW, the company says that this investment represents “another significant step” as the Canadian label continues to build upon its global operations with locations in New York, London, home base Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Sydney.

– Angela Murphy has been recruited by the CMRRA as its People & Culture Coordinator. She brings with her 7 years of working in various roles at Sobeys Inc.

–Bernie Finkelstein is close to the final cut on Atomic Reaction, a doc he researched about Canada’s involvement in the Manhattan Project. It’s likely to capture attention when broadcast by the CBC as a result of the recent box-office success of the biographical thriller flick Oppenheimer–so named for chronicling the career of Manhattan Project lead physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.

– Michael Cohl and Primary Wave Music are two of the producers named in a nine-week Broadway residency for Melissa Etheridge. The show is described as “an exhilarating evening of storytelling and music.” Last October, Etheridge premiered Melissa Etheridge Off-Broadway: My Window – A Journey Through Life. The three-week, sold-out engagement was performed at New World Stages in New York City. Below is an official lyric video of Juliet included in the new show.

– Live Nation’s Michael Rapino and Arthur Fogel make Billboard’s 2023 Power 100 Executives index. Rapino is from Thunder Bay, and Fogel is from Ottawa.

– BC-based Run-Up Records has snagged an Amazon Prime doc that explores the career and lifestyle of Indo-Canadian rapper/record producer AP Dhillon. The unscripted series premieres Aug. 18 in 240 countries.

– Odd but true: Live Nation is promoting an extreme wrestling event at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on Sept. 9. Tickets range between $48 and $107.

The Tenors return to the US with a 10-city tour dubbed Now & Forever. Show dates include appearances in NYC, Boston, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Management tips the fact that the quartet is releasing a Christmas-themed album before the mistletoe season.
