Few musical acts are as booked and busy as the Jonas Brothers — and they just pulled ahead of the pack again.

On Thursday night (Aug. 20), during the first show of the trio’s Burning Up Tour All Over Again trek, the sibling band debuted its brand new single, “Listen When Sad.” Donning black suits and ties, Nick and Joe crooned, “Do you remember the summer she gave you her number?/ In the back of that city that you moved last spring, bed too hard, you’re just sixteen,” over rollicking pop-rock guitars in front of the packed Madison Square Garden audience in New York City.

Arriving next Friday (Aug. 28), “Listen When Sad” marks the reunion of the JoBros and producer John Fields, who helped craft their 2008 Billboard Hot 100 top 10 smash “Burnin’ Up” (No. 5), as well as a plethora of the band’s earliest records.

“There’s something special about going back to one of the most pivotal eras in our musical journey [and] the emo and alternative influences we grew up on,” the Jonas Brothers said in a statement. “To us, it feels like a piece of our heritage channeled through who we are today, and we couldn’t be more excited for you to hear it.”

“Listen When Sad” finds the band coming full circle sonically, making for a fitting addition to a setlist that boasts classics like “S.O.S.” and “Lovebug,” and more recent cuts like “Love Me to Heaven,” “Only Human” and Grammy-nominated Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Sucker.”

Promoted by Live Nation, the Burning Up Tour All Over Again kicks off with a trio of sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden between Aug. 20-22. The trek will bring the brothers to arenas in major cities across the United States and Canada, including Toronto, Nashville and Las Vegas, before concluding on Dec. 21 at Prudential Center in their home state of New Jersey.

The Jonas Brothers’ new tour follows the premiere of Camp Rock 3, a legacy sequel to 2008’s Camp Rock and 2010’s Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam — which the brothers starred in alongside Demi Lovato — that hit Disney+ on Aug. 16. All three brothers reprise the roles from the first two installments and serve as executive producers (with Lovato). Performing as the in-universe band Connect 3, the Jonas Brothers also sing the first song on the Camp Rock 3 soundtrack, “Come On Over.”
