Veteran Canadian punk/hard rock heroes Headstones recently found a new label home in Toronto-based independent imprint Dine Alone Records. That union is now being launched in attention-grabbing style with the release today (April 10) of a new single, “NAVIGATE,” featuring a guest turn by new labelmate Dallas Green (Alexisonfire, City and Colour, You+Me). Accompanying the track is a performance video filmed at Dine Alone HQ in Toronto, directed by longtime visual collaborator and director of photography Gord Hawkins.

In a statement, Headstones frontman Hugh Dillon praises Dine Alone, calling them “a real deal, hands-on record company. Everything about them is exciting. They are authentic, passionate and real, and we’re honoured to be a part of it.”

Dine Alone founder Joel Carriere adds, "Headstones and Dine Alone Records have been out there carving our own paths, like a couple of wild hearts in a world full of squares. It’s about time we teamed up and turned this scene into a real 'Goo Goo Muck' kind of party!"

The high-profile collaboration with Green on “NAVIGATE” was the result of a casual meeting at Toronto studio Revolution Recording. Green explains that “I nonchalantly mentioned that if they wanted any background vocals to let me know. I was in the studio the next day singing on this badass tune. It was a real pleasure working (and chirping) with them and I'm grateful that they let me tag along on the creative journey.”

Formed by Hugh Dillon in Kingston in 1987, Headstones have sustained a successful career for nearly four decades, releasing 11 albums, including multiple gold and platinum records, along the way. They have also earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most energetic and entertaining rock bands in performance.

Dillon’s onstage charisma has carried over to his parallel career as one of Canada’s busiest and most-acclaimed film and television actors. His credits include TV series Flashpoint, Durham County, Yellowstone and current U.S. hit Mayor of Kingstown, on which Dillon also serves as an executive producer and writer. On the big screen, he has starred in classic Canadian indie films Dance Me Outside, Hard Core Logo, Highway 61 and Trailer Park Boys –The Movie plus many more.

Here’s Why ‘Shake It to the Max’ Was Deemed Ineligible at the 2026 Grammys — And Why Its Label Calls the Decision ‘Devoid of Any Common Sense’

Representatives from the Recording Academy and gamma. CEO Larry Jackson comment on one of this year's most shocking Grammy snubs.

Few phrases define the year in music and culture like Moliy’s scintillating directive to “shake it to the max.” The Ghanaian singer’s sultry voice reverberated across the globe, blending her own Afropop inclinations with Jamaican dancehall-informed production, courtesy of Miami-based duo Silent Addy and Disco Neil. Originally released in December 2024, Moliy’s breakthrough global crossover hit ascended to world domination, peaking at No. 6 on the Global 200, thanks to a remix featuring dancehall superstars Shenseea and Skillibeng. Simply put, “Max” soundtracked a seismic moment in African and Caribbean music in 2025.

Given its blockbuster success, “Shake It to the Max” was widely expected to be a frontrunner in several categories at the 2026 Grammys. In fact, had the song earned a nomination for either best African music performance or best global music performance, many forecasters anticipated a victory. So, when “Shake It to the Max” failed to appear on the final list of 2026 Grammy nominees in any category earlier this month (Nov. 7), listeners across the world were left scratching their heads — none more than gamma. CEO Larry Jackson.
