Drake Treats Attendees With Cash Prizes and Selfies During Apology Dinners For People Named Janice
The 6 God invited Janices in Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto to a private dinner to apologize for the title of his hit single "Janice STFU," where guests received a three-course meal and entered a raffle for a $5,000 cash prize.
Drake has made amends with the Janices of the world.
On Sunday afternoon (June 28), the Toronto icon extended the olive branch to as many Janices as possible by hosting a series of exclusive dinner parties in select cities from 1 to 4 pm, apologizing for titling his hit single "Janice STFU." In addition to an event at the Cactus Club in Toronto, Drake also hosted private dinners in Houston, Miami, Los Angeles and New York.
The Iceman kicked off the stint with three Janices from Houston, the sole dinner which he personally attended. The rapper posted a photo of the three guests to his Instagram, even sharing a selfie with one of them. The rapper later joked about it being a "slow news day" on his Instagram story, after an Instagram music news outlet posted about the meetup.

The Iceman sent out specialized invitations for all the events, as teased in a prior Instagram story where he posted a bunch of envelopes and teased the list of cities. "Sorry we might have ruined your summer. Let us make it up to you," the letter read, inviting Janices to an "afternoon of food, drinks and one or two surprises."
While the Houston event was a private dinner for four, clips taken from outside the Cactus Club Cafe in Toronto showed dozens of people waiting in line. The event was an intimate, family-style dinner where Drake's music played in each restaurant as attendees dined on a three-course meal consisting of brioche bread, calamari, salad, steak, salmon and more. Guests were also awarded raffle tickets for an eventual cash prize, which was handed to the winner in an envelope signed "Janice" with a heart and contained $2,500 USD, and $5,000 CAD for his winners in Toronto.

After dropping a surprise trilogy of albums back in May, "Janice STFU" became the first runaway hit from Drake's new batch of songs. The melodic track bowed in atop the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, spending two weeks at No. 1 in the U.S. and a record three weeks in Canada, surpassing "Jimmy Cooks" as the longest-running No. 1 hit by Drake in the 2020s. The track is still holding onto the top 3 in Canada this week, only behind "Stupid Song" from Olivia Rodrigo's new chart juggernaut You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, and Ella Langley's smash country hit "Choosin' Texas," which currently tops the chart.
