Fans online are accusing Drake and PartyNextDoor of copying Freddie Gibbs on the duo’s new album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U — and the “Something to Rap About” musician is weighing in.

The comparisons first started cropping up this week during the lead-up to the two Canadian stars’ new collaborative LP, which dropped Friday (Feb. 14). Not only did listeners notice that the title of $ome $exy $ongs 4 U is quite similar to Gibbs’ 2022 album $oul $old $eparately — notice the alliterative “S” words and the repeating dollar signs — they also flagged that Drake and his frequent collaborator used animated rabbits on the back cover of their project. The Indiana-born rapper has long used bunny imagery in his visuals, including on the front of $oul $old $eparately.

In addition to reposting a number of fans dragging Drizzy and PND for allegedly copying him, Gibbs also wrote on X Thursday (Feb. 13), “Damn they even stole the rabbits too.”

“I’m flattered,” the “1985” artist added.

Among the fan posts Gibbs reshared was one that read, “I forgot Freddie Gibbs be using the bunny with dollar signs a lot for his stuff. Yeah, Drake and PND just straight up copied that lmfao.”

Another person wrote, “Using the $$ and rabbit from @FreddieGibbs is nasty work,” which Gibbs also reposted.

Billboard has reached out to reps for Drake and PartyNextDoor for comment.

Gibbs dropped $oul $old $eparately in 2022. Featuring collaborations with Offset, Anderson .Paak, Moneybagg Yo and more, the LP reached No. 11 on the Billboard 200 — Gibbs’ highest peak on the chart to date.

$ome $exy $ongs 4 U marks Drake’s first proper album since 2023’s For All the Dogs, which spent two weeks atop the Billboard 200. It’s also his first full set since his explosive rap beef with Kendrick Lamar, which recently culminated in Dot teasing the Toronto megastar from the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage, performing Billboard Hot 100-topping diss track “Not Like Us” for more than a hundred million people Sunday (Feb. 9).

One person who’s taken jabs at Champagne Papi amid the feud has been Soulja Boy (“Drake u went out sad,” he posted to X in January). And shortly after sharing that message about the “God’s Plan” hitmaker on Thursday, Gibbs also just so happened to write on X, “Shout out to @souljaboy.”

Paul McCartney Opens TD Coliseum in Hamilton With a Marathon Set of Hits

The 83-year-old music legend played for nearly three hours with songs throughout his discography with the Beatles, Wings and his solo career, while showing off the audio-visual capabilities of the transformed arena.

The hard hats came off for the first official concert at TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario on Friday night (Nov. 21) — and it started with a bang.

The first show at the former Copps Coliseum and FirstOntario Centre arena since its nearly $300 million transformation by American sports and live entertainment company Oak View Group was one of the most prominent music legends still playing today: Sir Paul McCartney. That's a big flex for a venue aiming to prove itself as both a relief valve for the red-hot Toronto live music touring market and a destination in its own right, as well as Oak View Group's new flagship venue in Canada.
