Ontario country music festival Boots and Hearts has dropped its full lineup. American rock band Matchbox Twenty and rising star Chayce Beckham are joining previously announced headliners Cody Johnson, Thomas Rhett and Jason Aldean for the festival's 2024 edition.

This marks the second year in a row that the festival has featured a major rock band prominently on the lineup, following last year's inclusion of Canadian rockers Nickleback as headliners. The Grammy-nominated Matchbox Twenty will be playing their only Canadian date for 2024 at the Ontario camping festival, on the Saturday night mainstage. Rising American artists like Chayce Beckham (no relation to David) and Alana Springsteen (no relation to Bruce) will also be performing.

Alberta country band Emerson Drive will take the stage for the last time at this year's festival, closing out nearly three decades of performing together. The band had multiple hits on Billboard's country charts throughout their career, reaching No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart with "Moments" in 2007. This year, they're saying goodbye to long days of driving with their One for the Road tour.

In addition to the farewell show, Boots and Hearts is featuring plenty more Canadian talent. 2023 Emerging Artist Showcase winner Shantaia will help kick off the festival on Thursday night, and Juno Award winner Jess Moskaluke will perform on the Friday mainstage. Other Canadian performers include Nate Haller, Kalsey Kulyk, Buck Twenty, Taylor-Rae, Hunter Brothers and Elyse Saunders.

Boots and Hearts returns to the Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte from August 8 to 11 this year. The popular festival, now twelve years old, attracted forty thousand people in 2023. It's the premiere event of company Republic Live, which recently launched a management venture called RLive, with aims of developing artists who could go on to play festivals like Boots and Hearts.

Sum 41 Scores Second Alternative Airplay No. 1 This Year With ‘Dopamine’

The band's second and third No. 1s have led over two decades after its first in 2001.

After earning its first No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart in over two decades earlier this year, Sum 41 scores another as “Dopamine” rises a spot to No. 1 on the Nov. 30-dated survey.

The song follows the two-week Alternative Airplay command for “Landmines” in March. The latter led 22 years, five months and three weeks after Sum 41’s first No. 1, “Fat Lip,” in August 2001, rewriting the record for the longest break between rulers for an act in the chart’s 36-year history. It shattered the previous best test of patience, held by The Killers, who waited 13 years and six months between the reigns of “When You Were Young” in 2006 and “Caution” in 2020.
