Montreal police are investigating multiple suspected cases of drugging without consent at îLESONIQ music festival at Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 9 and 10.

In a statement today (August 15), police said six people reported feeling a “sharp prick” in their back while they were in the crowd at the EDM festival. Afterward, some of the victims reported that they felt dizzy.

While police said it’s premature to release more information or confirm if the incidents are linked, they said the alleged cases of poisoning are an opportunity to remind concertgoers to stay vigilant during large gatherings.

Today (August 15), festival promoters Evenko responded to the reports in a statement shared to social media.
