Karan Aujla's Official Release of Leaked Track ‘Low Fade’ Hits the Billboard Canadian Hot 100

Karan Aujla isn’t hiding his “Low Fade.”

The Punjabi-Canadian superstar’s latest track arrives at No. 67 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, dated July 4.

Earlier this month, Aujla announced that the Mxrci-produced track would be released after an early demo leaked online under the names “C Walk” and “Pind To LA.” The demo went viral amongst his fanbase, prompting Aujla to officially release the track.

He took to social media to discuss the release, claiming that he had no plans to put out the song, but since it was leaked, he shared that it would have vocals and even teased that a music video would drop alongside the song.

The bouncy, West Coast-hip-hop-inspired track fits its earlier names, with a groovy bassline and Aujla’s signature rhythmic flow.

Aujla is no stranger to the Billboard Canada charts, most recently charting with “Top Fella” back in May and “5-7” two months before that.

Still, Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" spends another week at No. 1, as Drake rises to No. 2 with "Janice STFU."

On the July 4-dated Billboard Canadian Albums chart, fellow Punjabi act Prem Dhillon’s Majhaestic debuts at No. 51.

Produced by The Kidd and Cheetah, Majhaestic is the second offering from the hip-hop/pop artist and features 10 tracks that blend traditional Majha spirit with global hip-hop sounds. The album’s production shines through on the album’s opening track, “Putt Jam Te Lao” featuring singer Jenny Johal.

At the top of the chart, Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love spends a second week at No. 1, already surpassing her last album, 2023’s Guts, which only spent one week in the coveted top spot.

In anticipation of Canada Day, many homegrown acts are moving up the charts.

“Kingdom of Fear,” Cameron Whitcomb’s song of the summer contender, hits a new peak, rising from No. 29 to No. 18. Climbing 52-44 is Charlotte Cardin’s sultry “The Way We Touch.” Timmins, Ontario singer Pablo Preston reaches a new peak with “Cause I Do,” moving from No. 78 to No. 75, while country hitmaker Josh Ross rises 98-90 with “Scared of Getting Sober.” It's a big week for Ross in general, as his other hit "Hate How You Look" becomes his first U.S. Billboard Country Airplay hit.

Though he's lost his grip on the No. 1 spot, Drake is still dominating the charts, as Iceman holds down the No. 2 spot on the Canadian Albums chart. Over on the Canadian Hot 100, a handful of the icy hot tracks are climbing up again, including the Maneesh-produced hit “Shabang," which climbs 25-21, while the Future and Molly Santana-featuring “Ran to Atlanta” moves from No. 33 to No. 28. “National Treasures” rises 34-30, “Whisper My Name” confidently moves from 36-33, and “2 Hard 4 The Radio” climbs one spot to No. 42.

An older album from Drizzy’s catalogue makes a small jump, too, as 2016’s Views rises 47-46. Other Canadian heavyweights, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber, both of re-enter at No. 97 and No. 99 with their respective chart-topping records, Starboy and Believe.
