Gracie Abrams Scores Her Second Billboard No. 1 Album in Canada With ‘Daughter From Hell’
It’s the singer-songwriter’s third studio album, and her second to reach the top spot on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, following 2024’s The Secret of Us. It's also her first-ever No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Daughter From Hell, her highly anticipated third studio album out now on Universal Music Canada, debuts in the top spot on the chart dated Aug. 1 this week.
The album is also No. her first-ever No. 1 album in the U.S. on the Billboard 200. “Really crazy. Thank you so. So. Much,” the singer shared on social media.
Produced by Abrams and longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner of The National, the album captures the emotional rollercoaster of being in your twenties. Leaning on Abrams’ quintessential diaristic songwriting, much of the record is grounded in emotional honesty that makes her personal stories feel universal.
Daughter From Hell is the follow-up to 2024’s The Secret of Us, which spent one week at No. 1 in Canada and 48 weeks on the chart. It features the tongue-in-cheek track “That’s So True” — co-written by her close friend and rising pop singer Audrey Hobert — which skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100 the same month that it debuted, spending two weeks there.
Of the 16 tracks on Daughter From Hell, nine are charting on the Canadian Hot 100. The previously released single, “Hit the Wall,” rises 45-23, hitting a new peak, and “Look at My Life” climbs from No. 59 to No. 38, also reaching a new high.
The remaining seven tracks debut on this week’s chart: “Good Reason” (No. 36), “Minibar” (No. 56), “The Knife” (No. 59), “Death Wish” (No. 61), “Daughter From Hell” (No. 74), “Men Like You” (No. 76) and “Broke My Heart” just makes the cut at No. 99.
Abrams’ Daughter From Hell is in good company on the Canadian Albums chart. Ella Langley’s Dandelion climbs to No. 2, while former Abrams collaborator Noah Kahan scores two albums in the top 10, including 2026’s The Great Divide at No. 4 and 2022’s Stick Season at No. 7. Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love ranks at No. 5.
At No. 71, Diplo's collaboration with rising Canadian country singer Cameron Whitcomb, “Would U Still Love Me,” hits the chart.
The anthemic track blends bold pop-rock hooks with earnest country storytelling. Whitcomb’s vocals bring a rough-edged sincerity to the song, which details the fear of losing someone once the excitement fades.
Diplo & Whitcomb initially teased the track a few months ago, during the former’s set at Stagecoach. Following the April music festival, the DJ and producer shared that Whitcomb is one of the artists “leading a new generation of country superstars,” calling his Stagecoach set “unreal.” The song is part of a two-song release featuring rising country singers called Wyatt Vs. Flores (the other collaborator is singer-songwriter Wyatt Flores).
Meanwhile, Whitcomb’s solo track “Kingdom of Fear” enters the top 10, reaching No. 8, his first top 10 hit.
A few spots down, powerhouse vocalist TALK debuts at No. 85 with “Time Machine.” It’s the first offering from the Stittsville, Ontario native in over three years, and it’s proven to be a hit.
Backed by an atmospheric acoustic guitar, the heartfelt track rides on the singer’s emotive vocal performance. It marks a pensive moment for the rising act as he ushers in a new era: “Every person, at some point in their lives, has made a wish for a time machine to go back and fix some dumb mistakes,” he explained. “This song represents mine.”
Earlier this year, he signed with Big Loud Rock, the rock/alternative imprint of Nashville’s Big Loud Records. “Time Machine” is his first release with the U.S. indie label in partnership with Canadian music company ArtHaus.
At the top of the chart, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” remains at the top for the 12th consecutive week, and Tame Impala & JENNIE’s viral TikTok hit “Dracula” holds down at No. 2. While the World Cup is over, “Dai Dai,” Shakira & Burna Boy’s official song for the global sports tournament, jumps from No. 16 to No. 3. One spot below, Stella Lefty’s “Boston” is continuing to rise, after entering the top 10 three weeks ago. This week, it moves up from No. 5 to No. 4. It’s building major momentum for the singer-songwriter, who’s set to play a special Billboard Canada LIVE Chartbreaker performance and Q&A in Toronto on July 30.
