New & Upcoming Canadian Releases: New Shad Collaboration, Klô Pelgag Returns, Shawn Mendes Album Delayed

Dominating this week's new releases are a group of deluxe reissues from some leading Canadian acts, while pop star Mendes makes news via a delayed album release date.

The calendar of new and upcoming albums includes some promising projects and reissues from Canadian artists.

Rock veterans 54•40 have a new live album, and there are also new releases from acclaimed singer-songwriter Jadea Kelly, indie rockers Secondhand Dreamcar, and Meko Brain, the solo project of Zeus' Mike O'Neil.


Those delivering deluxe reissues of hit albums are Barenaked Ladies, Chromeo, Busty and the Bass and The Dears. Shawn Mendes' fifth studio album, Shawn, has been pushed back to Nov. 15 from its original Oct. 18 release date. Read more on that here.

The two most prominent new offerings this week are from acclaimed long-running hip-hop artist Shad and Quebec rising star Klô Pelgag.

Shad's new release is a four-song EP entitled Reel Speakers, and it is a fully collaborative effort with renowned Michigan producer/DJ 14KT. Here is a sample.

There is already plenty of buzz around the new Klô Pelgag album Abracadabra. The singer-songwriter has won one Juno and 20 Félix awards and earned a Polaris Prize shortlisting. This new album is self-produced, and you can check out its advance trailer here.
