Ryan Langdon: Buck Wild

The rising country star returns with a new party-hearty cut featuring virile vocals and sizzling guitar.

Ryan Langdon: Buck Wild

By Kerry Doole

Ryan Langdon - Buck Wild (Slaight Music): The Niagara Falls, ON, country singer has been making a splash on the Canadian scene, as evidenced by his 2019 nomination for the Country Music Association of Ontario Rising Star Award.

His high-energy cut Lit In The Sticks grabbed attention, and now he's back with a new rockin' country track that sounds like a hit to these ears. Both songs were co-written by Langdon and the dynamic songwriting duo of Nashville-based Canadians Emma Lee and Karen Kosowski, and they clearly have a creative chemistry going on.

Buck Wild's theme is of payday partying, and we love the lines "someone call NASA, cos this night is going off like a rocket." Langdon's beefy voice fits perfectly, and some searing guitar kicks it into overdrive. Ideal for playing loud at your solo patio party in these socially isolated times.

Montreal’s Palomosa Festival Moves to May, PinkPantheress Goes ‘Stateside’: Canadian Concerts of the Week

After making an appearance at Justin Bieber’s Coachella set, Sexyy Red comes to Bieber’s home country, along with more artists playing some of this week's biggest Canadian concerts.

Following two years of unpredictable weather and attendance pressure, Montreal’s Palomosa Festival is slated for May, moving up from its previous September slot. Underscoring the festival’s emphasis on boundary-pushing electronic and post-internet sounds, the festival is a unique opportunity to spotlight rising artists on a grand scale.

Also this week, rapper Baby Keem, will headline a night in Vancouver, while buzzy British singer and producer PinkPantheress wraps up her North American tour in Montreal. After hitting the stage with Justin Bieber during Coachella, rapper Sexyy Red is taking over his home country with stops in Toronto and Calgary.
