American actress, singer, and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, scoring the highest on-demand streams and digital song sales for the week. The album also has the highest one-week consumption total since Taylor Swift’s evermore in December 2020 and the highest one-week streams total since Taylor Swift’s folklore in July 2020.
Additionally, Rodrigo is the first artist to debut at No. 1 with her first charting release since Lil Nas X’s 7 entered at the top of the chart in July 2019 and the first female artist to land at No. 1 with her first charted album since Cardi B’s Invasion Of Privacy in April 2018.
The Tragically Hip’s Saskadelphia debuts at No. 2, with the highest album sales total for the week, totalling close to 11,000 units. It’s the highest one-week album sales total since November 2020 when AC/DC’s Power Up sold over 17,000 copies. Their best-of collection, Yer Favourites, bullets to No. 13, the album’s highest position since it reached No. 9 during Canada Day week in 2020.
Last week’s No. 1 album, J. Cole’s The Off-Season, drops to No. 3 and Justin Bieber’s Justice falls two positions, to No. 4.
Twenty One Pilots’ Scaled And Icy debuts at No. 5. It is their third straight top five album and first since 2018’s Trench peaked at No. 2.
P!nk’s All I Know So Far: Setlist debuts at No. 8, her ninth straight top ten album and first since 2019’s Hurts 2B Human hit No. 1.
Two other new releases debut in the top 50, with American rapper 42 Dugg’s Free Dem Boyz, at 36, and Blake Shelton’s Body Language, at 50.
