Rosalía has a deep history with Toronto.
The acclaimed Spanish singer brought her latest trek to Canada over the weekend (June 13) for a singular date at Scotiabank Arena, marking her third time performing in the city. She praised the city for having welcomed her with open arms during her last two tours for El Mal Querer and Motomami, and expressed her gratitude to be back.
“You’ve always had my back, from the very first project to El Mal Querer, to Lux. I’m so happy to be back. Thank you for having my back and for having me here," she said in an address to the crowd. "I do this show with all the love that I have and I hope that we can leave something in this show that you might be able to take home with you."

Lux was widely acclaimed for its bold vocals, orchestral production and songs in thirteen different languages, all of which were spotlighted in this latest show. Every lyric was translated into English and subtitled on a panel above the stage, where everyone in the arena was able to read them.
Rosalía was joined by a live symphony who played from the middle of the floor, enhancing her soaring, operatic vocals with dashing violins, flutes, drums and more. She balanced out the tranquil moments of the Lux songs with the brash energy of Motomami, as well as a techno break at the end of the Bjork and Yves Tumor-assisted “Berghain," swapping out her white cloak and veil for a dark outfit and a headpiece with horns.
Halfway through the show, she became a painting by singing a cover of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" while standing behind a golden frame, which inevitably prompted a sing-along from the entire arena. She descended to sing with the fans she brought onstage to act like gallery visitors, before introducing the night's special guest. For the confession booth segment in Toronto, she invited American actor Benito Skinner from the Prime Video series Overcompensating, which was filmed in Toronto.

Another special moment came before "Sauvignon Blanc," in which Rosalía happily dedicated the track to a lesbian couple celebrating their ten-year wedding anniversary, after she read the request on a sign. Before heading into the penultimate “Focu’ ranni,” Rosalía once again thanked the Toronto audience for their special energy, receiving a roaring two-minute ovation and even removing her in-ear monitor to properly witness the audience’s loudness. She returned for the closer “Magnolias,” which she performed with tears in her eyes, and after walking off into the light, the cheers continued while her band received a final, powerful ovation to end the night.
