The acclaimed Punjabi-Canadian artist has been announced as the inaugural Global Ambassador for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Digital Climate Library.

UNFCCC and Arts Help made the announcement this week at the worldwide climate conference COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Harnessing open-access resources, the Digital Climate Library is designed to amplify climate awareness and innovation on a global scale. The initiative digitizes and preserves the UNFCCC’s extensive archives in an effort to make climate knowledge open and accessible and to ultimately inspire action.

As Global Ambassador, Shubh will raise awareness and support the development of the Digital Climate Library.

"Through this role, I hope to use my platform to bring attention to the issue, share knowledge, and be part of a movement that pushes for a better future, not just for all of us, but for future generations as well," Shubh says in a statement to Billboard Canada. "I hope our combined efforts create a positive impact in addressing climate change and fostering sustainable living for all species on our planet."

As a globally popular artist with 5 billion career music streams, the still-rising artist has a significant platform for the role. His 2023 album Still Rollin hit No. 18 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, while the 2024 follow-up EP Leo peaked at No. 19. His confident hip-hop single "King Shit" debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. He's also charted in India, New Zealand and the U.K.

Billboard Canadian Hot 100 & Billboard Canadian Albums Charts Undergo Methodology Changes for 2026

Below is an explainer on the charts’ new streaming weights.

Following the switch of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart to a new weighting methodology to match that of the United States-based Billboard 200, the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 songs chart has shifted to the updated paid to ad-supported 1:2.5 streaming ratio. This is effective with the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart dated Jan. 31, 2026

As previously reported, Billboard’s charts have added more weight to on-demand streaming to better reflect an increase in streaming revenue and changing consumer behaviors. As part of the change, paid/subscription on-demand streams continue to be weighted more favourably compared to ad-supported on-demand streams, with the ratio between the two tiers narrowing from 1:3 to 1:2.5 based on analysis of streaming revenue.
