Toronto Oasis Fan Demand Ticketmaster Refund After Liam Gallagher’s Racist Post
"Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before, it wasn’t intentional, you know I love you all and I do not discriminate," the frontman wrote on X.

Oasis is back to their controversial ways — but this time, Liam Gallagher is taking the heat.
Ahead of the Britpop band’s two-night stint at Rogers Stadium in late August, the frontman is receiving backlash for an X post containing an anti-Asian slur — and one Toronto ticketholder isn't so forgiving.
Gallagher has been under fire since July 1 over a derogatory tweet. In response to the now-deleted post, one follower wrote: “Liam, you can’t say that,” to which he responded: “Why.” Another user told Gallagher he was “gonna get cancelled” over the tweet. He replied: “Whatever.”
Ontario fan Yifan Liu told blogTO he was shocked by the online outburst. Since Tuesday, Liu, who has tickets for the band's August 25 show, has been unsuccessfully trying to have his purchase refunded by Ticketmaster. “I am a permanent resident of Ontario and a member of the Chinese-Canadian community," he told the publication, adding that Gallagher's post was "troubling," and he and "many others were deeply offended."

While the “Wonderwall” singer initially defended his statement, a few hours later, he started backtracking and issued a short apology:
“Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn’t intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG x,” he wrote on the social media platform.
Liu promptly requested a refund via Ticketmaster, telling blogTO he no longer felt comfortable attending the show. "Discrimination, even in the form of a deleted social media post, should not be tolerated or downplayed by any organization involved in public entertainment," he explained.
The ticketing giant denied his request, with a Ticketmaster rep telling Liu they only sell on behalf of the event organizers and aren't authorizing refunds for the event. "All sales are final as stated in our Terms of Use," they reportedly said in an email. The email correspondence, shared with blogTO, reportedly confirms the ticketing platform made no acknowledgement of Liu's racial appeal.

Gallagher’s controversial post comes three days before Oasis is set to kick off their 2025 world tour in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4. It’s their first of multiple shows in the U.K. before heading across the pond to Canada on August 24 and 25.
