Vancouver Twin Sister Duo Fionn Peaks at No. 2 on Billboard Canada Modern Rock Airplay Chart With ‘Blow’
Plus, country singers Nate Haller and Tenille Townes and indie rocker young friends debut on this week’s airplay charts.

Fionn is soaring to the top of the airplay charts.
The alt-rock duo’s track “Blow” peaks at No. 2 on the Billboard Canada Modern Rock Airplay chart, dated August 2.
Hailing from Vancouver, identical twins Alanna and Brianne Finn-Morris make up Fionn — a name derived from an Irish influence on their shared surname.
“Blow” comes from their fourth studio album, Banshee, which was released on May 2 on 604 Records. The track is an eruption of pent-up frustration and sarcasm with a quintessential pop-rock sound. The sisters called the three-minute track a “femme-rage infused song” on Instagram after its release.

“Blow is about the interactions we experience as women in the professional world and the constant feeling of having to bite our tongues when men talk down to us or question our abilities based on how they perceive us," the twins say of the track. "We feel this is especially prevalent in the male dominated music industry. As women we’ve been conditioned to mask anger and remain sweet even when we are being disrespected."
The music video, which Fionn says displays “how it feels to be a woman in the music industry (or any industry in general),” shows the sister-duo competing against a male band at a Battle of the Bands competition — with minimal regard from the audience.
It's a good time for Canadian acts on the Rock Airplay charts. “Last Girls At The Party” from Toronto band The Beaches notches a ninth week at No. 1 on Modern Rock, sitting just ahead of Fionn, while Three Days Grace’s “Apologies” is at No. 1 for a third week on Mainstream Rock.
Three Canadian country songs are debuting on Canada Country this week, meanwhile. Ontario singer Nate Heller enlists Albertan country star Tenille Townes on “Backfire,” which arrives at No. 43. The upbeat duet marks the first collaboration between the Billboard charting artists.

Eight spots down, Sacha With Restless Road debuts at No. 51 with “Shooting Star,” while Dean Brody’s “Drink Around” comes in at No. 59.
Elsewhere, Dance-pop duo Felix Cartal & Reve hit the CHR/Top 40 chart with “Dancing In A Dream” at No. 33, while two artists arrive on Modern Rock — “On And On (Song For Jasmin)” from B.C. natives Mother Mother at No. 30 and fellow west coast artist young friend debuts at No. 38 with “Loose."
At the top of the radio charts, Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” continues to dominate three charts at No. 1: All-Format, Canada CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC. On AC, Warren is dethroned to No. 2, after Ed Sheeran’s “Azizam” rises 2-1. Just shy of the top spot, Shaboozey’s “Good News” rises 3-2 on All-Format while Benson Boone’s “Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else” and Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” sit firmly at No. 2 on CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC, respectively. American country star Tyler Hubbard stays at No. 1 with “Park” on Country.
