Summer Walker has broken barriers to build a modern global R&B success story based on boundless creativity and radical vulnerability.

The R&B auteur will be celebrated with the Global Visionary Award at Billboard Canada Women In Music 2026 and will accept the honour at the star-studded celebration at Rebel in Toronto on Nov. 24. Tickets are available here.

Walker has become one of the defining voices in a new generation of R&B, building a consistent chart presence and legacy through her signature trilogy of albums. She's played by her own visionary rulebook throughout, from the music to the unique rollout, and crafted a career-long body of work that has resonated in a big way.

Her 2019 debut Over It has charted on the Billboard 200 for a staggering 329 weeks and counting, solidifying its status as an instant, modern classic. That steam only picked up with its sequel, Still Over It (2021), Walker's first chart-topping album in the U.S., breaking her own record for the then-highest streaming debut for an R&B album by a woman.

Her therapeutic writing derived from real-life experiences has created a profound connection with her audience as they've tuned into each new record. After navigating through relationships and becoming the mother of a daughter, and then twins, each subsequent record reflected a different reality from the last one, building a universe and a story that has been told across three LPs over six years. The tale culminated in 2025's Finally Over It, which completed a historic trio of No. 1 debuts for Walker on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Walker landed the near entirety of Still Over It on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021 and became the second female artist in history to place 18 songs on the chart, joining Taylor Swift. In 2022, she was celebrated with the Chart Breaker Award at Billboard Women In Music and returned in 2025 to present the Icon Award to her idol and mentor, Erykah Badu. Walker now boasts 46 Billboard Hot 100 entries and 12 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Along the way, she's collaborated with some of hip-hop and R&B's biggest artists, from Cardi B to SZA, Drake, Usher, Don Toliver, J. Cole, Doja Cat and more.

This year, Walker transformed her now-complete trilogy into her first arena tour, the Finally Still Over It tour, which sold out venues around the world. The tour told the tale of her three albums, kicking off in Toronto and culminating with a special finale in the U.K., with two-sold out nights at London's O2 Arena.

Celebrating the feat in a special moment captured by Billboard Canada and Billboard UK, Walker paid tribute to the bold and loyal team that has helped her achieve new heights as she has built her own path within the industry.

Summer Walker will be in good company at this year’s third edition of Billboard Canada Women In Music. Recently announced honourees include the first-ever Global Woman of the Year, global superstar Cardi B (Walker's collaborator on multiple songs), Global Hitmaker Bebe Rexha, Rising Star Chxrry, Executive of the Year, Live Nation Canada’s Melissa Bubb-Clarke, and Impact Award winner, MusiCounts/The Juno Awards’ Kristy Fletcher. More announcements are coming soon.
