Ye (formerly Kanye West) is feeling the love from Kid Cudi again. Cudder kicked off his Rebel Ragers Tour in Phoenix on Tuesday night (April 28), which featured the Ohio native dedicating a performance of Kids See Ghosts‘ “Reborn” to his mentor.

“This one’s for Ye,” Cudi shouted to the crowd, which drew some noise from the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre audience.

“Reborn” would be the final song of Cudi’s opening-night set in Phoenix, following “Maui Wowie” and “Pursuit of Happiness (Remix).”

“We gotta sing this loud so Ye can hear you,” he instructed in a video captured by fans.

The move appears to be an olive branch to Ye, as West and Cudi seem to be on at least better terms than in 2025, when Cudi addressed their fractured relationship. He called “sad” at the time, and admitted Ye — who in recent years has faced ongoing backlash for his antisemitic hate speech — had left him heartbroken on multiple occasions.

“It breaks my heart because I loved Kanye. I really loved him,” Cudi had told CBS Mornings. “He was part of my life changing and at some point, he was a really good friend, but the man that he has become … I just don’t know that guy anymore. I don’t know him. I don’t know that version of him, and it’s really heartbreaking.”

He also addressed whether they’d ever work together again: “The freedom we experienced when we were creating, it will just never happen again, and that’s just the heartbreaking side of things.”

“Reborn” landed on Kid Cudi and Ye’s long-awaited Kids See Ghosts collab album in 2018. The track cracked the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40, peaking at No. 39.

Yeezy and Cudi have a plethora of collaborations over the years, dating back to 808s & Heartbreak opener “Welcome to Heartbreak,” “Erase Me,” “Gorgeous,” “Make Her Say” and “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1.”

Cudi will continue his 33-date North American trek this week with shows in Albuquerque, N.M., and Texas shows in Austin and Dallas.
