Beyoncé to Donate $1 Million to Colombia Earthquake Relief Efforts
Queen Bey's seven-figure contribution will provide food and housing supplies to communities devastated by the disaster.

Beyoncé will contribute $1 million to organizations providing on-the-ground assistance in Colombia, Parkwood Entertainment announced Tuesday (Aug. 25) in a press release. The funds are earmarked for immediate food and housing supplies for communities hardest hit by the magnitude-7.4 earthquake that struck near San José del Palmar, in Chocó, on Aug. 10.
The quake caused extensive damage to homes, infrastructure and roads, while also disrupting food supplies across multiple areas. In response, Parkwood and the superstar encouraged those seeking to support relief efforts to donate to Food For The Poor and World Central Kitchen, both actively aiding affected communities.
Beyoncé’s donation joins support from fellow artists with close ties to Colombia. During Bogotá’s Colombia: Voces por la Vida benefit concert on Sunday (Aug. 23), it was announced that Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation had contributed $1.2 million. The event, featuring Maluma, Eladio Carrión, Grupo Niche and more than 30 other acts, raised over 11 billion Colombian pesos — approximately $3.6 million — for affected families.
Meanwhile, Shakira, Global Citizen, Live Nation and CAF have committed an initial $1.25 million to rebuild schools damaged in Chocó, with Shakira’s Pies Descalzos Foundation set to lead the effort.
The Houston megastar’s contribution also arrives as a broad coalition of Latin artists, athletes and organizations mobilizes to support Chocó’s recovery. The initiative Marea Viva por el Chocó del Mañana — led by Progresa Chocó, Fundación Mi Sangre, Fundación Bancolombia and Grupo Argos — includes Juanes, James Rodríguez, Mariana Pajón, Rigoberto Urán, David Ospina, Néstor Lorenzo, Manuel Medrano, Goyo, Jhon Arias, Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Sanz, Nicky Jam and Altafulla.
