A trio of passionate country artists have teamed up to launch a new boutique record label.

Country rockers Jason McCoy & Clayton Bellamy of The Road Hammers and platinum-selling indie artist Dan Davidson have joined with Calgary-based financial executive and philanthropist Craig Senyk for Skysong Records.

Skysong is described as a label built 'by artists for artists.'

“Skysong Records was born from a shared dream between three artists who’ve dedicated their lives to this industry — not just making music, but learning, listening, and evolving alongside it," says McCoy. "Skysong is a creative home where voices are heard, stories are honoured and talent is nurtured. We're here to spotlight the very best this country has to offer and help bring that talent to the world stage.”

Distributed worldwide by The Orchard, Skysong will make its official debut with "Buckle Rubbin'," the new single from Dan Davidson that is set for release on July 7.

The principals involved in the new venture are known and respected within the Canadian country/roots music community. Co-founder McCoy is a Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee who has had a successful career as both a solo artist and a member of The Road Hammers. He made headlines this past weekend at the CMAOntario Awards in Hamilton as the recipient of the inaugural Real McCoy Award, a new honour named after him for his tireless work as host of that event since 2014.

Fellow singer-songwriter Bellamy is McCoy’s bandmate in popular country-rock trio The Road Hammers, a group that formed in 2004 and has notched over 43 million global streams, multiple CCMA Awards, a Juno and multiple gold and platinum certifications. Bellamy's parallel solo career has seen the release of six full-length albums.

Albertan country singer-songwriter and producer Dan Davidson has a similarly impressive pedigree. Since first making a splash with his 2016 hit “Found,” Davidson has earned 17 CCMA nominations and 10 ACMA Awards and performed over 200 concerts in eight countries. He recently signed to ABC Records Australia and took on a new role as a morning show host on Canada’s longest running country music station, CFCW. Coincidentally, McCoy is also a radio host, on Ontario station Pure Country 106.

Rounding out the Skysong Records team is Albertan philanthropist and country music lover, Craig Senyk. A financial analyst and the board chair at Mawer Investment Management, he is the founder of Craig Senyk Initiatives (CSI), which raises the profile of Canadian country music while generously giving to local charitable organizations. In 2022, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of his philanthropic achievements.
