Drake Surprises Karol G’s Houston Crowd With ‘One Dance’ Performance
The rapper joined the Colombian superstar onstage for a performance of his 2016 hit "One Dance"
Drake made a surprise appearance at Karol G‘s concert in Houston on Sunday (Sept. 27), joining the Colombian superstar onstage for a performance of his 2016 hit “One Dance.“
In fan-shot clips from the show, both artists appeared dressed in black, with Drake taking the mic on “One Dance” as Karol G danced beside him before the two moved in close, drawing roars from the crowd.
The appearance was the latest in a series of moments between the two stars. Drake attended Karol G’s Toronto show in July, appearing on the venue’s Jumbotron, and had publicly nodded to her on record before their team-up, name-checking her on “New Bestie” from his 2026 project Maid of Honour. The pair then released “Ahí” in August, and the single made an immediate mark on Billboard’s Latin charts. It debuted at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs — Drake’s fourth leader on the tally — and gave him his first career No. 1 on Hot Latin Rhythm Songs, a chart he had never previously topped.
Released in 2016, “One Dance” was a career milestone for Drake. Featuring Nigerian star Wizkid and British singer Kyla, it became his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 as a lead artist, spent 10 weeks atop the chart and reigned for years as the most-streamed song in Spotify history. It has since become a staple of his unannounced guest spots, including a surprise set at Vybz Kartel’s Toronto concert last year, where he also performed it.
For Karol G, the moment adds to a genre-reshaping run. The Medellín-born star became the first Latina to headline Coachella earlier this year, and her 2023 album Mañana Será Bonito made history as the first all-Spanish-language album by a woman to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Her 2025 album Tropicoqueta debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and she announced her latest album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, in July, extending a run that has established her as the most commercially dominant woman in Latin music.
