SamaritanMag Spotlights Bud Light Dreams Music Festival

By Nick Krewen

Bud Light Dreams Music Festival is carrying on a tradition for the third year in a row: $1 per every ticket sold for this year’s two-day fest will be donated to MusiCounts, the music education charity associated with the Juno Awards.

Money from this year’s fest, held June 23 and 24 at Toronto’s Echo Beach and including a EDM-driven lineup of Armin Van Buuren, Kaskade, Galantis, Txchami X Malaa and genre pioneer Richie Hawtin, will be added to a cumulative total of $40,000 raised by Dreams, which has supported eight schools and thousands of students with new instruments with their involvement.

Throughout his history-making Dil-Luminati Tour, Diljit Dosanjh has a line that he’s repeated proudly on stage, “Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye” – or, “The Punjabis have arrived!”

The slogan has recognized not just the strides made by Diljit, but the doors his astounding success has opened for Punjabi music and culture.
