Amidst the Punjabi hitmaker’s global tour, he breaks through on the chart at No. 100. Plus: new entries from Karan Aujla, Michael Jackson, Stella Lefty and more.
Diljit Dosanjh has a special connection to Canada, and his latest hit has debuted on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 as he makes his way through North America.
“Morni,” a collaboration with Punjabi-Canadian artist Chani Nattan & U.K.-based producer Tru-Skool, arrives at No. 100 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, dated May 16.
The addictive track oozes with confidence, blending high-energy beats with a modern bhangra-hip-hop fusion, courtesy of Tru Skool’s magic touch. It features Punjabi folk instruments, including the tumbi and dhol, creating a sound that reaches global audiences throughout its three-minute runtime.
“Morni” received its late-night debut in April, when Dosanjh performed the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It was a record-setting moment for the global superstar, who became the first Punjabi artist to appear on the talk show twice. On that show, he spoke about his Toronto Metropolitan University course (developed in partnership with Billboard Canada) and referenced the significance of playing in Vancouver in context of the historic Komagata Maru Incident.
The Punjabi hitmaker is no stranger to the Canadian charts. In 2025, his album, Aura, became his fourth album to rank on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.
Now, he’s touring that album and the follow up 2026 Tru-Skool collaboration EP The Call of Panjab across the globe, with multiple stops in Canada. Last month, he played in Vancouver, making history for the second time, and also played Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. He’ll play Toronto’s Rogers Centre at the end of May.
Another Punjabi star is also debuting this week, as Karan Aujla's “Top Fella” arrives at No. 70 on the chart.
It’s a powerful moment for the B.C.-based superstar. Produced by Mxrci, the track boasts a heavy bass and an confident flow, as Aujla celebrates his success, loyalty and dominance.
“Top Fella” marks the most recent chart addition for Aujla, who has continued to make his mark on the charts as one of the most popular Punjabi artists in Canada and globally. It follows the March-released single, “5-7,” which arrived at No. 41 on the Canadian Hot 100.
Aujla’s success has brought him multiple arena shows on his latest Canadian tour leg, which concludes tomorrow night in Winnipeg. He’s touring in support of his latest record, P-Pop Culture, which became the highest-debuting Punjabi-language album in Canadian history — a record set by Aujla in 2023.
After debuting the track at Coachella, Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter’s “Bring Your Love” arrives at No. 51, over 20 spots higher than its placement in their home country, at No. 74.
Rising singer-songwriter Stella Lefty scores a new entry at No. 80 with “I Know I Know.” It’s her second song on the chart, as the TikTok viral “Boston” climbs 48-31 in its fifth week on the chart, hitting a new peak.
Michael Jackson’s chart comeback continues. This week, Thriller hit “Beat It” debuts at No. 43, joining last week’s debut entry “Billie Jean,” which hits a new peak at No. 25, rising from No. 49.
Meanwhile, on the Canadian Albums chart, the King of Pop’s biopic soundtrack, Michael: Songs From The Motion Picture, climbs 13-6, while Number Ones, a selection of the singer’s biggest hits, zooms 24-16. Further down, his compilation album, The Essential Michael Jackson, re-enters the chart at No. 48.
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” spends a second week at No. 1 after reclaiming its spot last week from Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead,” which drops one spot to No. 5. Langley secures a second song in the top 10, with “Be Her” at No. 8, climbing up seven spots from last week.
Noah Kahan scores a second week at No. 1 with his latest album, The Great Divide, on the Canadian Albums chart. Following suit, the entire 21-track record remains on the Canadian Hot 100, the highest entry being the title track, at No. 10, which drops seven spots.
