It's a long story involving gremlins, Google and the new world order, but rest assured we have resolved the problem that confounded readers trying to link to stories in Friday and Monday editions of the newsletter. We grovel before you and beg your forgiveness.

While switching our website over to use a secure HTTPS connection, we ran into some problems with the links in our newsletter not resolving for some readers. You don’t need to know all the nerdy reasons for us having done this other than the fact that Google recently changed how it stores information for searches. It is long and complex and it took our IT team a little longer than expected to annihilate the gremlins and restore order to the kingdom of FYI.

We apologize for the problem, which is now fixed.
