Josh Ross and Cameron Whitcomb could have a big year coming.
The nominees for the 2025 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMAs) have been announced by the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA). Ross and fast-rising 22-year-old B.C. artist Whitcomb lead this list with six nominations each. Last year, Ross won five CCMA Awards, including entertainer of the year. Whitcomb, meanwhile, has been steadily charting on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 and Canadian Airplay charts over the last year.
They are closely trailed by Brett Kissel and Owen Riegling, with five nominations each, and Jade Eagleson, with four. Artists in three categories each are Madeline Merlo, Tyler Joe Miller, MacKenzie Porter, The Reklaws and Sacha.
New to the 2025 CCMA Awards program this year, the francophone artist of the year award will recognize an act (solo, duo or group) recording primarily in French. This year’s nominees are Francis Degrandpré, Fred Dionne, Sara Dufour, Vince Lemire and Salebarbes.
Country music fans across Canada can help choose the winner for the breakthrough artist or group of the year (nominees are Noeline Hoffman, Zach McPhee, Sacha, Tony Stevens, Cameron Whitcomb) and the fans' choice award (nominees are Jade Eagleson, High Valley, Brett Kissel, Tyler Joe Miller, MacKenzie Porter, The Reklaws, Owen Riegling, Josh Ross, Dallas Smith, Cameron Whitcomb) by casting their vote at ccma.org/fanvoting.
The 2025 CCMA Awards (its 43rd edition) will broadcast live on September 13 from Prospera Place, in Kelowna, B.C., from 8 pm ET on CTV. The show will be hosted by Ottawa comedian and actor Tom Green.
