By Kerry Doole

bülow - Boys Will Be Boys (Wax Records /UMC): The Juno-winning, multi-platinum-selling electro-pop artist releases a new EP on October 4. and this is the first single from that record.

Her breathy vocals are placed over insistent and staccato beats, while the lyrics speak of defiance in the face of bad behaviour ("if you think I'm going to cry, you're delusional"). In a label press release, bulow explains that "the song is ironic. A ‘fuck you’ to old sayings that reinforce negative bullshit.”

Boys Will Be Boys was written by bulow and produced by Michael Wise [Ellie Goulding, James Blunt]. The track follows the artist’s summer track Get Stupid, off Crystalline released earlier this year.
